From Science to Practical Applications
The first edition of ERA Week brought together researchers, students, and practitioners to explore how sports-science research can be translated into practical applications. Over two days, the program focused besides others on the introductory session, a dedicated workshop provided by the University of Münster’s start-up center REACH, and a concluding wrap-up embedded within the dvs Hochschultag.
Day 1 – September 16,2025
The first day opened with an introductory session that welcomed participants and outlined the goals of ERA Week. Subsequently, participants had the opportunity to take part in a guided lab visit to see current projects and state-of-the art measurement systems for neuromotor research in action. After lunch, the editorial team from the international Scientific Sport Science Journal provided an insider’s look into international publishing, highlighting challenges and best practices for early-career researchers. The core activity of the day was a workshop delivered by REACH, the start-up center of the University of Münster, which focused on practical strategies and pathways for transferring research into real-world applications. This session encouraged participants to reflect on the entrepreneurial and translational potential of their work and provided hands-on guidance for navigating innovation processes.
Day 2 – September 17,2025
The second day linked ERA Week with the dvs Hochschultag, allowing participants to engage with broader themes of diversity, sustainability, and current developments within the field of sports science. After attending the conference sessions, participants reconvened for a final wrap-up, where key insights from ERA Week were summarized and opportunities for future collaboration were discussed.
